Improving the Understanding of Asian Fine Arts in the United States

Grants will be made only to tax-exempt organizations in the United States such as museums, universities and other educational or art-related institutions for programs, exhibits or publications that improve the understanding of Asian fine arts in the United States. No art grants will be made to individuals.
 
bulletAsia is limited to the countries of China, Japan, Korea, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Mongolia and Tibet.
bulletFine arts refer to paintings, graphic arts, ceramics, sculpture, textiles and photography.
bulletProposals are considered twice a year in May and November. Deadlines for receipt of proposals are May 15 and November 1.

The Blakemore Foundation will not make grants for:

Endowment purposes

bullet

General operating or regular curriculum expenses

bullet

Capital projects, including the acquisition or collection of art

bullet

General administrative or overhead expenses of the applicant

Proposal Instructions

Proposals should be submitted in letter form containing the following information:

bulletBasic information on the exhibit, program or publication
bulletProject budget, including expenses and anticipated sources of funding
bulletAmount of grant requested
bulletDescription of the specific use for proposed funds
bulletCopy of organization's 501(c)(3) exemption letter
